Kao Taem: Wi-chian maat, I’ve brought some desserts as gifts. Here’s some Thai coconut cakes. And here’s some Thai coconut custard.

Wi-chian maat: Thanks, but why is the desserts bag all ‘bup’-ed like this?

Kao Taem: Well, I held it in my mouth all the way from my house. As soon as I arrived here, I jumped over the fence but the bag caught on some tree branches and I fell to the ground rolling in the dirt.

Wi-chian maat: It’s no wonder then that the desserts bag got all ‘bup’-ed like this.
สีสวาด: เรียกว่าบุบไม่ถูกหรอก ถุงขนมเป็นถุงกระดาษ ต้องเรียกว่าถุงขนมยับ
Si Sawat: It’s not correct to use the word ‘bup’. A desserts bag is a paper bag, so the word to be used must be “the desserts bag got all ‘yap’-ed”.
วิเชียรมาศ: แล้วบุบใช้กับอะไรล่ะ
Wi-chian maat: So when do we use ‘bup’?
สีสวาด: ก็ใช้กับกระป๋องหรือกล่อง ซึ่งมีลักษณะแข็งหน่อยสิจ้ะ
Si Sawat: Well, use it with ‘cans’ or ‘boxes’, things that have the characteristics of being rather hard.
ผู้บรรยาย: ถุงกระดาษยับ แต่กล่องบุบ
Narrator: Desserts bags get ‘yap’-ed, but boxes get ‘bup’-ed.
แมวทั้งสามตัว: แล้วพบกันใหม่นะครับบบ (ครับ)
