วิเชียรมาศ: ดีซี่(สิ) สนุกด้วย ชั้น(ฉัน)อยากรู้จังเลยอ่ะ บางทีเค้า(เขา)ก็บอกว่า แข่งกีฬา แล้วก็สถานที่แข่งกีฬาก็เรียกว่า กรีฑาสถาน ทำไมไม่ใช้คำว่า กีฬา ให้เหมือนกันล่ะ
Wi-chian maat: Good! It’d be fun too. Hmm, I do want to know something. People say “(to) compete in ‘Gee-laa’” and the place for competing in ‘Gee-laa’ is called a ‘Gree-taa sa-taan’. Why not use the word ‘Gee-laa’, so they’ll be along the same lines?
สีสวาด: สิ่งที่เล่นกันแข่งกันทุกอย่างก็เรียกว่า กีฬา ทั้งนั้น ส่วนที่เรียกว่า กรีฑา ใช้เฉพาะกีฬาที่แข่งกันในสนาม สนามแข่งกีฬาพวกนี้จึงใช้คำว่า กรีฑาสถาน ไปด้วย
Si Sawat: ‘Gee-laa’ is used for every type of game or competition whereas ‘Gree-taa’ is only used for ‘Gee-laa’ played in a track and field stadium. So these sports arenas are called ‘Gree-taa sa-taan’-s.
