Narrator: The ‘Pak’ in the word ‘Pak-pon’ is written ‘Por paan, mai han aa-gaat’, and ‘kor kai’ whereas the ‘Pak’ in the word ‘Pak puak’ is written ‘Por paan, ror han and kor kwaai’. Both these words are read the same way but they are written differently and they have different meanings.

‘Pak-pon’ (พักผ่อน) basically means ‘(to) rest’ as in ‘(to) stop doing a particular activity or stop being active for a period of time in order to relax and get back your strength’.

‘Pak-puak’ (พรรคพวก) basically means ‘friends, followers, or supporters’.
