เก้าแต้ม: ฮึ่ย นี่แน่ะ นี่แน่(นี่แน่ะ) จะวิ่งหนีไปไหนเจ้าตัวสกปรก ฮึ่ย ยี้ เหม็นจัง
Kao Taem: Woo-hoo! Take that! And that! Where’re you running off to, oh filthy one. Ugh! Eww! What a musty smell!
วิเชียรมาศ: นี่มันแมลงสาบนี่นา พี่ก้อยน่ะทั้งเกลียดทั้งกลัวเลย
Wi-chian maat: Well, it is a cockroach after all. Pee Goy hates them and is scared of them at the same time.
เก้าแต้ม: เจ้าแมลงสาบนี่หละ มันชอบอยู่ตามที่สกปรก เช่น ท่อน้ำเสีย หรือถังขยะ ชั้น(ฉัน)จะต้องจัดการกับมันเซียะหน่อย(เสียหน่อย) ตัวมันน่ะเหม็นเหลือเกิน
Kao Taem: These cockroaches, they like to live in dirty spots for example sewer drain pipes or trash cans. I must exterminate them once and for all. They are just too smelly.
วิเชียรมาศ: ก็แมลงสาบน่ะมันเหม็นสาบ เค้า(เขา)จึงเรียกว่า แมลงสาบ
Wi-chian maat: Well, ‘Ma-laeng-saap’-s have a ‘saap’ smell. That’s why they are called ‘Ma-laeng-saap’.
เก้าแต้ม: ก็นั่นนะซิ(สิ) ฉันจึงต้องช่วยกำจัดมันไงเล่า
Kao Taem: And that there is the reason that I must help in exterminating them!
วิเชียรมาศ: ชั้น(ฉัน)อยากสาปให้มันกลายเป็นปุ๋ยซะจะได้ไม่มาเดินยั้วเยี้ย
Wi-chian maat: I just want to cast a spell on them and turn them all to fertilizer so that they do not swarm all over the place.

Narrator: The word ‘saap’ in ‘Ma-laeng-saap’ is spelled with a ‘Bor bai-mai’; the word ‘saap’ in ‘Took saap’ is spelled with a ‘Bpor bplaa’.

‘Ma-laeng-saap’ (แมลงสาบ) is a compound noun meaning ‘cockroach’. It literally means ‘musty smelling insects’ [‘ma-laeng’ (แมลง) means ‘insect’ and ‘saap’ (สาบ) means ‘musty smell’]. Please note that the ‘saap’ (สาบ) in ‘ทะเลสาบ’ (a noun meaning ‘lake’), even though it has the same spelling and pronunciation, it does not have the same meaning.
‘Took saap’ (ถูกสาป) means ‘to be cursed / hexed’.
